My People
One of the greatest joys in music making comes from collaboration. These are the people I work with in the Vancouver Area.
Meaghan Williams - One of the co-creators of BASS-MAS! Meaghan is one of Vancouver's busiest bass players and a top teacher, both privately and at Capilano University. Meaghan and I often teach each other's students as the need arises. www.meaghanwilliams.ca
Mark Beaty - The other co-founder of BASS-MAS! Principal bass of the Vancouver Island Symphony and teacher at Douglas College.
Malcolm Armstrong- Malcolm is Principal double bass of the Victoria Symphony and joined us as the forth member of the BASS-MAS! crew. Malcolm teaches double bass at the University of Victoria.
BASS-MAS! - BASS-MAS! was our sold out festive celebration of the double bass, featuring a quartet of basses playing new and old holiday favourites and most importantly, a collaboration between professionals and students. We are currently working hard at growing this concept into a series of events throughout the year in an effort to build up the local community of bass players of all levels. We also had a pretty awesome Instagram account.
